There’s a new Jason Bourne movie coming out.
The bad news? There’s no actual Jason Bourne in it — meaning, no Matt Damon. And no Paul Greengrass, either.
The good news? Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, and Rachel Weisz have been added to the franchise — plus the return of Joan Allen. I guess that will have to do!
The trailer is all Talented Mr. Ripley-ish, which could bode well — if The Bourne Legacy is even half as sophisticated a thriller as that film was, it’ll be a good one. It’s written and directed by Tony Gilroy, who wrote the others and directed the slick and stylish Michael Clayton. That, too, is promising.
All the Bourne films so far have been good. So far there’s every reason to believe this one will follow suit.
Who’s ready to be Bourne again?
